A dumb rule! Help!?!?

Someone I know VERY well( a girl) Had a baby about 7-8 weeks ago and the dad is in the army. So because he is in the army and hasn't gotten to hold the baby he made this rule " that no one is allowed to hold the baby until he gets to except for the momma and the grand parents. And we saw them earlier today and I got SOOOO MAD because all we could do is hold his hand or tickle his foot. The dad comes home on thursday and then they are leavin for Colorado on Sat. I won't get to hold the baby until he is almost a year old. Because after Colorado they are going to New Hampshire for 5 weeks. Do I tell the dad/mom how this made me feel? Do I tell the dad how stuPid this rule is? What do I do?
