How do i connect to an AD-HOC network on my Kindle 3?

i can do a jailbreak and what not i just didn't want to spend the extra cash for 3G. So i though i could use my wireless modem on my HTC tilt 2 which runs Windows Mobile 6.5. I tried to connect to it and it said ad-hoc networks are not supported, So i was wondering if there was a hack that will let me do it. please help
