Why did my mixed berries turn sour?

Is it oats like as in oatmeal? Cause last time i tried eating frozen blackberries with my oatmeal & i probably did the same thing you did & it was sour & pretty nasty. I guess they just shouldnt be warmed...even tho 20 seconds is not that much.
