If I jailbroke my Ipod would it scam me?

I just updated and jailbroke my Ipod Touch. I wanted to download a free app on the App Store. But it said it needed me to verify my payment info.Everything was filled in except for the security code on my dad's credit card. Would the jailbreak ever try to scam me? My friend said my dad's credit card expired and needed to be renewed and that's why Apple kept asking for the security code. But my dad said it didnt't expire yet. So why is it asking for the security code? Is the jailbreak trying to trick me and take all the money in my parents credit card or what? Please help!
